Stevenage World Forum AGM 2022

Stevenage World Forum held their AGM, celebrating 21 years of diversity of our beautiful town. Stevenage World Forum was established in October 2000 to give ethnic minorities a voice and platform. This year’s AGM these focused on ethnic minorities in democracy and was attended by newly elected councillors: Cllr Patsy Spears; Cllr Michal Siewniak; Cllr Nazmin Chowdhury and Deputy Mayor Cllr Myla Arceno. All  4 guest speakers shared their journey, their struggles and experiences of entering politics and what further work needs doing to encourage more ethnic communities to come forward as community champions and become actively involved within the democratic process.
